POTM Witnesses and Becomes Part of This Most Memorable Historical Day for America and the World.

Band members dreams of playing a part in the Presidential Inauguration became a reality Tuesday January 20th, 2009 when we played the Western Inaugural Ball in Hall B of the Washington Convention Center.

Despite the pressures of dealing with the strictest security imaginable, we were at once awe inspired and humbled by the events unfolding before our eyes.

Mr. Obama's acceptance speech was the inspiration for POTM's first original composition and recording. "Yes We Can" was a collaborative effort with music & lyrics penned principally by pianist Darren "Big Papa" Winters and vocalist Darren Leslie respectively.

While we are sure that hundreds or maybe even thousands of songs will bear the title "Yes We Can," we are very proud of the ideals expressed by our song and the quality of the performance and production. And, few if ANY can claim to have performed their song "LIVE" at the Inauguration of the President and Vice-President.
